Kolkata: (formerly Calcutta) is the capital of West Bengal and one of the largest cities in India. It is also the largest city in the historic region of Bengal (today's West Bengal and Bangladesh). Kolkata is an 'in your face' city that shocks and charms the unsuspecting visitor. Long known as the cultural capital of India and home to the Bengal Renaissance, Kolkata continues to spawn generations of poets, writers, film directors and Nobel Prize winners. If your trip only allows for a visit of one or two of India's metropolitan cities, than definitely consider placing Kolkata on your itinerary. Darjeeling :

Mirik : Mirik is a picturesque tourist spot nestled in the serene hills of Darjeeling district in West Bengal, India. The name Mirik comes from the Lepcha words Mir-Yok meaning "place burnt by fire".
The centre of all attraction is the Sumendu lake surrounded by a garden on one side and pine trees on the other, linked together by an arching footbridge called Indreni Pull (Rainbow Bridge). A 3.5-km-long road encircles the lake and is used for walks with the view of Kangchenjunga on the far horizon. Boating on the quaint shikaras and pony riding are available.
Kalimpong, Lava, Rishyop: Kalimpong is one of the best tourist destination in West bengal.In local dialect Kalimpong means ''Black spur'', as per the Lepchas kalimpong means ''Ridge,where we pray''.
The first thing that strikes the traveler visiting Kalimpong is its quiet atmosphere. The peaceful ambience that pervades is heightened by the presence of monasteries and churches across the town.
It became a centre for Scottish missionary activity in the late 19th century, and Dr Graham's orphanage and school is still running today. Kalimpong is a bustling and rapidly expanding, though still relatively small, bazaar town set among the rolling foothills and deep valleys of the Himalayan at an altitude of 1250m. and include three monasteries, a couple of solidly built churches, an excellent private library for the study of Tibetan and Himalayan language and culture, a sericulture, orchid nurseries and fine views over the surrounding countryside.
Rishyap is a small tourist village, which is located in the Darjeeling district of West Bengal. It is located near Lava at an elevation of around 8500 ft above sea level. The nearby regions from here include Kalimpong, from where it is just 32 km.
The meaning of the word Rishyap is ‘mountain peak and tree’ and it is located between the junctions of Sikkim, West Bengal and Bhutan. Other than mountain ranges, this small village is surrounded by dense forests. A clear view of the Himalayas and other ranges of Nepal are available from Rishyap. The Samml village of Lolegaon is also referred by most of the locals as Kaffer. The Lava-Lolegaon sector is very popular as a bird watching destination because of the availability of some of rare species of birds.
Bishnupur, a city of temple, was once ancient capital of Malla Raj.The name is derived from 'Vishnu', the majority of people belonging to the 'Vaishnava' sect. Bishnupur Sub-Division was constituted in 1927. The head quarter of Bishnupur Sub-Division is roughly 210 km away from State capital. It is connected with State capital by railway.
